A school is accredited when it has been investigated and found worthy of approval by an accrediting agency. Ministrymaker University is a member of and accredited by the National Bible College Association.
Pursuant to Indiana code 21-18.5-2-12, Ministrymaker University meets all the Indiana state requirements for religious exemption. The Indiana Commission for Higher Education along with the Indiana Board for Proprietary Education has granted Ministrymaker University religious exemption from government requirements of offering secondary and post secondary degrees of higher education. This allows MMU the freedom to offer degrees of higher education without governmental control or restraint.
Ministrymaker University will not seek regional or governmental accreditation. Bible Colleges and Seminaries should not be under government control or scrutiny. We should be free to teach the Word of God and train those called of God to the ministry directed only by the Holy Spirit and the dictates of scripture.
Ministrymaker University has no plans to pursue any type of regional or governmental accreditation for several reasons:
1. Expenses. To keep our expenses low enabling MMU to maintain its very low tuition rates. Pursuit of governmental accreditation would require a dramatic increase in costs passed on to the student.
2. Autonomy. To maintain doctrinal autonomy.
3. Consistency. To continue the utilization of MMU and other parallel doctrinal educated faculty to ensure theological and philosophical consistency with the vision and mission of MMU. Pursuit of governmental accreditation would make this increasingly difficult.
MMU is committed and inspired by Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 3:1-2, “Do we begin again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as some others, epistles of commendation to you or letters of commendation from you? You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men.”
Our programs are of the highest quality, and we are committed to continuous improvement in the academic realm. We believe the quality of MMU programs is evident, and MMU graduates will be distinguished by their maturity, understanding, and skill in exegetical and expositional disciplines. Likewise, prospective students, or students transferring from other institutions, will be impressed by the academic, spiritual and theological standards of Ministrymaker University.
