Tangible Faith

When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. (Mark 5:27-29).

In the above sanctified episode, there are two vitally significant factors that we Christians should note, study & analyze:

• The very act of the woman ‘touching’ the robe of Jesus dos not construe any critically important factor here.
• The astounding fact that ‘her Faith’ led her to absolutely be sure that if she touches the garment of Christ she would be healed was the defining perspective that imparts a clear & specific message to all of us Christians.

Yes, by our ‘Faith’ we can reach out and ‘touch’ Jesus who in turn would promptly respond to our needs without fail. What I have humbly attempted to share here is not something what I had read somewhere, heard from someone, etc. but my own true life experience that has been unfolding ever since I reached out and ‘touched’ Jesus.

When someone loses his / her 100% vision suddenly without any forewarning or pre-symptoms / afflictions, the first act he/she would consider to be impossible for them to even try/attempt would be – ‘Writing’. But that was exactly what Jesus made me to do! The ‘Light of Life’ of Jesus produced out of me a 238 pages unique, ‘first of its kind’ book that talks of 6,000 years of biblical history packed with numerous biblical verses/passages, ‘hitherto unknown or lesser known’ facts. And presents a mosaic wherein the cultural as well dietary habits of Abraham to Jesus, His Apostles & several other Biblical Icons were canvassed & penned in a literary cadence that does not belong to humble men. How was this possible? The simple & absolute answer is ‘reaching out & touching Jesus’.

A man who can hardly walk to his street corner without aid has reached out this miracle book all the way across the seas to the United States, Canada, Europe, Middle East, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand & Australia. How was this possible? The simple & absolute answer is ‘reaching out & touching Jesus’.

More than the above, the most astonishing and awesome fact is that for 50 years of my life I did not know Jesus. I had not ever touched a Bible let alone reading one! And then, on one clueless, cloudless, moonless and hopeless night within 6 hours of admission into a hospital I lost my complete sight & became totally blind. It was while groping & grappling in the nightmarish, scary darkness, when my illustrious world of dazzling career riding on the pinnacle of success, slipped into a world of ‘voices without faces’! I discovered Jesus as I accidentally read a few defining passages from the Bible through borrowed eyes! It was then on that bright faithful night, I realized that Bible is indeed the ‘Word of God’. I also humbly realized that the Word of God is the medium through which God and Jesus talks to us – that’s why Bible is known as the ‘Word of God.’ The Bible talks to us and we can talk to Jesus through the Bible. We can reach out and touched Jesus through the words of the gospel faithfully.

This is my true and everyday experience. It can be yours too – Amen!
