Keys to Effective Praying

- Our prayers must be divinely directed (1 Kings 18:36).
- Praying must be done in the name of the Lord (James 5:14).
- In the power of His name.
- We have power of attorney.
- In His will (1 John 5:14-15).
- In His merit as opposed to our own (Romans 5:1-2 & Hebrews 4:16).
- To His glory (John 14:13).
- Praying must be done in faith (James 5:15, James 1:6-8).
- We must be divinely directed (1 John 5:14-15).
- We must know the word (Romans 10:17).
- We must meditate on His word, faithfullness, and power (Psalm 1:2-3, Joshua 1:8).
- We must be bold in our praying.
- Be bold (confidant) in our declaration (1 Kings 17:1, 18:44).
- Elijah was bold in his prayer requests (1 Kings 17:1 & 19-22, 1 John 5:14-15)
- We must pray specifically.
- We must pray effectually and earnestly (James 5:16-18).
- We must pray with persistence (1 Kings 17:19-21, 18:41-44).
- We must pray with anticipation (1 Kings 18:41-45).
- The one praying must be righteous (James 5:16).
